Kyan's Story
After Vincent, Kyan is our second child who will graduate from MGP. We enrolled Kyan in MGP because we already know MGP is a very good school based on how Vincent became what he is today. Our two sons are different from each other in many ways, but they share a common characteristics, shyness. We have witnessed how MGP helped Vincent overcome his shyness. And we’ve seen the same with Kyan. They say the experience is the best teacher. That is why we have no doubt that Kyan will overcome his shyness too. When Kyan was still young, he has difficulty in speaking because of the medical condition called “tongue-tied”. He cannot stick his tongue out like any other kid could do. We remembered Ms. Michelle suggested to us some therapy and activities that will help Kyan in improving his condition. From there, we realized that MGP is not just a school, but a family that will take care of our child.
When Kyan was in Senior Casa, we remembered that he was chosen as one of the story-tellers in the Festival of Words. It was his first time to join in that kind of event. We really felt some doubts if Kyan can do it considering his condition and him being shy. We felt nervous because we thought it was too early for Kyan to be in that kind of school activity. But we were proven wrong when Kyan memorized his part and performed well in the event. MGP teachers are one of the huge contributors for Kyan’s success.
When things are doing well, your expectations changes. MGP activities like living rosary, united nations, festival of words, moving up and year end programs are the activities that you don’t want to miss. As parents, you will always want to see your child to be part of this events. We can’t forget that day when Kyan informed us that he was chosen as one of the emcees. It was an overwhelming feeling for us to know Kyan can really do this kind of things in front of an audience.
Everyday Kyan keeps on gaining confidence more and more. From story-telling, to becoming an emcee, to dancing, to performing as a star in a play, Kyan always looks forward to be on these events and perform his part. He became more competitive and smarter too. We were happy when he got high grades and became part of the Director’s List. He really works hard to maintain his grades.
Now that he is moving to the next chapter of his life, we can say that Kyan is now ready. And we are grateful to MGP for helping us make this happen. With the experiences and values Kyan gained from MGP, there is no doubt he will achieve his dreams in the future. Thank you MGP.
